The government is once again playing for higher stakes. Restarting the SIR exercise in Bihar, has been a deliberately thought-out plan to bring in one-party rule which runs contrary to the ethics of the constitution and ignores the significant diversities of political cultures across the country. Dr. Malay Mishra served as a career diplomat for 36 years as a part of the Indian Foreign Service. Among various diplomatic assignments with Indian missions across the globe, he served as Ambassador to Hungary and Bosnia & Herzegovina. Dr. Mishra later worked on issues of socio economic empowerment of marginalized communities and is a political analyst. Dr. Mishra had helped set up the Vedanta Society of Hungary and has delivered several lectures on Vedanta and Swami Vivekananda’s thoughts and relevance for present day society.
